Nov 28, 2016 - NOTE: On the back side of your Playstation2 you find a number beginning. USA SCPH 30001, Serial Number begins with U1 Date Code 1D. The GC46MF PS/2 Mouse-to-USB Adapter features a PS/2 female connector on one end and a USB (type A) Male connector on the other, allowing you to plug your PS/2 mouse into a USB port. Please Note: This product is designed as a replacement adapter for mice that originally shipped with a PS/2 to USB converter.
Where on the PS2-slim MoBo can I read the serial number? And: Are KHM430 and PVR802W lasers interchangeable?
Greetings everyone, you might remember me from my previous topic about the non-working games.
Ps2 Serial Number Lookup
After some experimenting (cleaned everything; ripped a non-working game disc, the ripping worked flawlessly and the ripped iso works fine in PCSX2) I came to the conclusion that it's probably the laser's fault. So I want to try fixing the issue by buying a new laser for ~10 bucks. Issue now is: What the hell is/are the right one/s?!
First problem: The serial number on the shell is only partially readable, it's SCPH-x0004. The x is what's unreadable. (edit: I believe x is 7 and it's a V13 but I'd like to make sure)
Second problem: The number on the motherboard is another way of determining the console's generation but I can't find it at all lmao. This is the only clue I found so far and it didn't help me: 'GH-XXX (big models) and GH-XXX-XX (slim models) refers to the number on the motherboard - The number is marked on the motherboard either right under the heatsink or on the bottom where the metal shielding is.'
The disc drive and laser that are in my PS2 Slim are the PVR802W laser and the TDP082W drive. My razor sharp mind lead me to the conclusion that I can safely buy the PVR laser without knowing my console's generation. Issue is, a trustworthy and cheap shop in my country does not have that one available, however I read online that the KHM and PVR lasers are the same/interchangable and fit every TDP-082 (TDP082W)/KHM430AAA or TDP-182 (TDP182W)/KHM430BAA, KHM430CAA drive. And that seller has said KHM430 for sale right now plus it's actually a bit cheaper. So... Is this true for every generation and I can just put that one in or is there something else that interferes? (since I assume that not only laser and drive have to be compatible but also mobo and whatnot...)
Thanks in advance, I'm aware that my questions are probably not the easiest to answer '
