I have been facing a problem on WinXP, the SCSI/RAID Host Controller by Microsoft has begun to give Code 39 error on Device Manager and will also affect the DVD-RW with the same code, so the both are unoperable.

Where could I get the driver downloaded, didn't find it anywhere, the device driver installer didn't get it from Microsoft over the net, and I can't even get it from the install-CD to the laptop because the DVD-drive is unoperable ...Please, is there any other way to solve this problem, or, is it maybe a mobo chip problem?

Download http://majorgeeks.com/download4181.html and go to Computer > Summary to see your motherboard details, then go to the download page on the motherboard website. Download and install the files, then reboot to complete.

If you are not using RAID you can go into your BIOS and shut it off. Then see if you still get the error. If you are still getting you can disable it
